USDA Rural Development announced $1,024,615 for 11 Wisconsin projects through the Rural Business Development Grants program.
The awards include training for businesses across tribal lands, support for entrepreneurs with disabilities, Indigenous entrepreneurship instruction and technical assistance for small firms in northern and west-central counties.
One $200,000 grant will establish a revolving loan fund for small businesses in Waupaca County. Other recipients will provide succession planning, workshops, regional economic analysis and help with business creation or expansion.
The October 13 announcement identifies funded organizations and intended activities. Job creation and business growth are program objectives, while the eventual results will depend on implementation, participation and later reporting from the recipients.
