NASA announced on October 14 that it will hold an Artemis program update at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on October 23. The briefing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern and will be available online.
The agency says the presentation will address Artemis III, a planned four-person mission to low Earth orbit next year. That flight is intended to test systems needed for later lunar landings rather than conduct the landing itself.
NASA also plans to discuss progress toward returning American astronauts to the lunar surface by 2028. Listed participants are Administrator Jared Isaacman, Associate Administrator Amit Kshatriya and Artemis program manager Jeremy Parsons.
The announcement is notice of an upcoming briefing, not evidence that the planned flight or landing has taken place. Mission schedules and technical readiness will need to be assessed against subsequent program updates. In-person U.S. media applications are due October 16 at noon.
