Nevada recorded an advance total of 2,705 initial unemployment-insurance claims for the week ending October 10 in the Labor Department’s October 15 release. The state table is not seasonally adjusted.
The same report lists 24,629 continuing insured-unemployment claims for Nevada for the earlier week ending October 3. The two measures cover different weeks and should not be added together as a count of newly unemployed residents.
Advance state figures are preliminary and use the state liable for paying benefits, while prior-week reporting can use residence-based counts. That difference limits direct comparison of the table’s advance and earlier figures.
These are statewide insurance-program records, not a Las Vegas unemployment rate or a report on a particular employer. The data alone do not identify which industries or events account for the claims.
