New York City posts general-election reminder ahead of early voting
City voting begins October 24; Election Day voting is November 3, with different hours and site lists.
New York City posted a general-election reminder October 19 directing registered voters to the upcoming voting schedule. Early voting runs from October 24 through November 1. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
The city Board of Elections lists early-voting hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 24, 25 and 26. Hours change later in the period: October 27 and 28 run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., while October 29 runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. October 30 through November 1 return to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Election Day polling is scheduled for 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The board publishes separate borough lists for early-voting and Election Day sites, so voters should check the appropriate list rather than assume the same location and hours apply throughout.

NOAA announced October 20 that it has signed a two-year research agreement with San Carlos, California-based Cowboy Space Corporation to test processing environmental satellite data in orbit. The objective is to examine whether useful information can reach Earth faster while reducing transmission requirements.
Cowboy Space will fund, build, launch and operate its Reason-2 satellite, currently scheduled for 2027. NOAA will provide an existing open-source model and historical raw observations from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite carried by Joint Polar Satellite System spacecraft.
