Tuesday wildfire report lists fewer assigned personnel as eight large fires remain uncontained

The October 27 snapshot records 36 initial-attack fires and 984 personnel in its active-incident resource table.

The National Interagency Coordination Center’s October 27 situation report lists light initial-attack activity, with 36 fires during the preceding reporting period. Eight large fires remain uncontained and national preparedness is at Level 1. The bulletin was issued at 7:30 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time.

The active-incident resource summary records 984 personnel, a decline of 246 from the previous report. It also lists 13 crews, 55 engines and eight helicopters. Those totals cover the reporting table, rather than every emergency responder or resource working across the United States.

The report records no new large incidents and no large fires contained during the period. Several established fires continue to require attention. In Washington, the Sisi incident narrative reports residences threatened and continuing area, road and trail closures, despite the lighter overall national activity.
