The November 4 national fire report lists five uncontained large incidents while recording no new large incidents and no large fires newly contained in the reporting period. Initial-attack activity totaled 33 fires, categorized as light in the operational summary.
Active-incident staffing stood at 350 personnel, with one crew, 34 engines and one helicopter. The resource table reports an increase of 21 personnel. Its totals cover assignments associated with the reported incidents rather than every firefighter on duty across the country.
The Northwest accounted for 129 personnel, the Southern Area for 114 and the Eastern Area for 98. National preparedness remained at Level 1, while the Southern Area’s regional level was 2. These readiness indicators operate at different geographic scales.
The morning report combines new-fire counts, assignments and the status of continuing incidents. A lower number of uncontained incidents does not itself establish that a particular fire was contained during the reporting period. The figures are a dated operational snapshot, not a forecast or a substitute for local incident information.
