Monday fire report lists 414 personnel and six uncontained large incidents

The November 2 operational snapshot records 30 initial-attack fires and no new large incidents.

Anchorage Register · News Desk

The national wildfire resource table published November 2 lists 414 personnel assigned to active incidents, together with two crews, 31 engines and one helicopter. Six large fires remained uncontained. The report records no new large incidents and no large fires newly contained in that reporting period.

Initial-attack activity totaled 30 fires. The Southern Area accounted for 19, while the Eastern Area reported one. The Northwest reported no new fires, although its active-incident summary still included personnel working on existing incidents.

The Northwest resource total was 142 personnel; the Eastern and Southern totals were 132 and 126 respectively. These are assignments captured in an operational report, rather than a count of every firefighter working nationwide or a measure of individual communities’ risk.

National preparedness remained at Level 1. That broad designation does not resolve local conditions: the same report continued to identify uncontained incidents. The figures describe the morning reporting snapshot and should not be read as a forecast for the rest of November 2.
